Yondan Sensei Tony is the Dojo Shu for Tora Martial Arts. He is a National A referee, and holds the rank of Yondan as well as his NCCP 2. Sensei Tony competes in kata tournaments and is an active referee. Sensei Tony teaches the competitors class as well as helps at the Thursday and Saturday classes. In 2012 Sensei Tony received the Syl Apps Volunteer Achievement award.
Yondan Sensei Heather started with Tora Judo back in the 70’s, and after a long break she came back in 1999. Sensei Heather is an executive member of Judo Ontario. She holds the rank of Yondan, competes in Kata competitions, and is a National A referee and has her NCCP 2. Sensei Heather can be found teaching the Adult classes on Tuesday and helping out on Thursdays as well as Saturdays. She enjoys coaching the competitors at tournaments.
Shodan Sensei Marcus started Judo at Tora in 2005, and after taking a long sabbatical he returned in 2015. Marcus obtained his Shodan(black belt) in 2022 as well as his Dojo Instructor certification in 2022. Sensei Marcus volunteers much of his time at the Club Tournaments as well as the Ontario Open Championships and the Ontario Kata Championships. Sensei Marcus is currently teaching both adults and kids and can be seen at the club on Thursday nights and Saturday morning.
