Edmonton International Judo Championship
Tora Judo Club recently attended the Edmonton International Judo Championships held in Alberta. The tournament had 874 entries.
Tora had great success with the following results:
Alexia Fiaes placed first in the U14 -32kg division
Alexandra Flores place second in the U14 -36kg division
Trenton Achico fought for third place in both the U14 and U16 -42kg division
Andrew Rangoo placed 7th in the U14 -38kg division
Jerome Khan placed 7th in the U16 -42kg division
Ryan Conklin-Bric placed 3rd in the U21 -60kg division and fought well in a very tough Seniors -60kg division
Deanna Barnes placed 7th in the U18 -63kg division
James Lonsdale placed 7th in the U18 -73kg division and fought well in a very tough Seniors -73kg division
Congratulations to al our competitors on a very successful weekend.
We are also very proud of Ryan Conklin-Bric on his bronze medal at the Canada Winter Games in Red Deer Alberta for the Team event. Team Ontario placed 3rd in both the female and male divisions of the team competition. Athletes must qualify for the Canada Winter Games and only one athlete for each division is selected to attend based on the Judo requirements and guidelines.
